1. What are the benefits of using Corporation Internet Filing?

Corporation Internet Filing is fast, easy to use, and readily available. It is paperless, secure, and provides confirmation within minutes. This service reduces processing time, resulting in faster refunds. In support of sustainable development, a paper copy of your return should not be submitted.

2. Who can use Corporation Internet Filing?

You can use this service if you meet the eligibility criteria in Who can use Corporation Internet Filing?

3. Is there a cost to use Corporation Internet Filing?

Corporation Internet Filing is free. However, because you must use CRA-certified software, you may have to buy tax preparation software.

4. Is Corporation Internet Filing secure and confidential?

Yes. We use sophisticated encryption technology and security procedures to protect your information at all times.

Before a return can be transmitted, our computers check the level of encryption in the filer's computer browser. Given the nature and importance of the information, we need the highest possible level of security. Internet filing will be allowed only after we've determined that the filer has been properly identified using three items of identification, including an assigned Web Access Code or an EFILE On-Line number and password. For more information, see Security.

5. When is the Corporation Internet Filing service available?

See Hours of service for the exact times of operation.

6. What is a Web Access Code?

A Web Access Code (WAC) is an eight-digit number that forms a part of the electronic signature of a corporation, along with the Business Number and tax year end. A unique WAC is assigned to each corporation for each tax year. Tax professionals can avoid having to request a code for each corporation income tax return they file by registering for an EFILE On-Line number and password.

7. What are the EFILE On-Line number and password?

The EFILE On-Line number is a code consisting of a letter and four numbers that is used to identify a registered tax professional. A registered professional can use the same EFILE On-Line number and password to file all of their clients' corporation income tax returns using Corporation Internet Filing. To get an EFILE On-Line number and password, register as an electronic filer for EFILE On-Line, or contact the EFILE Help Desk for more information.

8. If I need more information about Corporation Internet Filing or if I have problems while using this service, whom should I contact?

If you need help or more information, call the Corporation Internet Filing Help Desk; refer to the Help Desk hours of service.
