Example of a confirmation letter

A confirmation letter will be sent by CRA to individuals and businesses who authorize you to access information and services online. The letter is our way of validating a taxpayer's written authorization request (Form T1013 or RC59).

Standard letter

This letter informs the taxpayer that they have authorized a representative for online access and if the taxpayer agrees, no further action is required.

"Care of " letter

Since February 11, 2008, the CRA allows taxpayers with a C/O address to authorize a representative for online access using a T1013. These taxpayers also receive a letter but with a significant difference - the letter states that the taxpayer must call the CRA to activate the authorization for online access.
