Job Summary
Work Term: Winter 2028 (January – April 2028)
The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) is seeking to hire students who are looking for a Co-op or internship placement opportunity from January 2028 to April 2028.
Eligibility: We will only be considering applicants enrolled in an accredited Co-op or Internship program in line with their program requirements from their post-secondary academic institution.

Analysis and Exploitation of Information Sources (AXIS)
Analysis & Exploitation of Info Sources offers a wide variety of specializations; you can apply to one or multiple areas of interest within the branch for student job opportunities.
Students will gain exposure for development in the following areas:

Summary of functions
Students can cultivate their skills and gain valuable experience in the following fields:
Stream 1 - Data & Information Exploitation
- Support Operations efforts;
- Analyze financial data provided by financial institutions and Government partners;
- Make inferences and draw conclusions;
- Write reports and present findings;
- Analyze biometric data, geospatial data and geographic data;
- Support the production of policy documentation and standard operating procedures for the section;
- Perform the secretariat functions for working groups, including producing meeting agendas and meeting minutes, and following up on critical actions..
Stream 2 - Open Source Information Centre
- Assist with the creation of a repository of Canadian and foreign publications through acquisitions and system procedures
- Participate in databases trial and evaluation and provide feedback for user guides databases;
- Assist a research team in the triage and distribution of requests;
- Create library subject guides highlighting our resources and reputable sources available online;
- Participate in the review and triage of the current library collection;\
- Assist with the serials’ management and the cataloguing of resources;
- Support the upgrade of our Integrated Library System.
Education
Registered full-time in one of the following academic paths and years at the time of placement:
- College Diploma student in their 3rd year;
- Undergraduate degree student in their 3rd year or higher;
- Graduate-level student (Master’s or Ph.D.)
Must be in a field of study relevant to the functions of the position for which the candidates apply to; such as, but not limited to:

Applicants must be registered as a full-time, post-secondary student in an accredited academic institution recognized in Canada during their work term.
Experience
Candidates with the following experience are preferable:
Experience may have been acquired through formal and informal settings (e.g. school, volunteer, work experience or projects).
- Experience in learning and using productivity software, collaboration and online tools;
- Experience in the writing of briefing notes, creating presentations, compiling complex documents or dossiers;
- Experience in policy research, analysis and writing;
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and coordination;
- Experience in and/or knowledge of program evaluation, audit, compliance monitoring or risk assessment;
- Experience in open source research;
- Experience in data analytics;
- Experience in an Information management or Library environment (e.g., Serials, Collection, Research).
