Public Statements of Strategic Environmental and Economic Assessments
The Cabinet Directive on Strategic Environmental and Economic Assessment (SEEA), introduced April 1st 2024, requires releases of public statement of environmental and economic effects for proposals that triggered a detailed environmental or economic analysis. The release should happen once a proposal is announced or implemented.
The statements provide assurance that environmental and economic effects were considered during a proposal’s development and decision-making.
This requirement succeeds and augments previous disclosure under the now rescinded Cabinet Directive on the Environmental Assessment of Policy, Plan and Program Proposals that prescribed Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA).
Departments and agencies covered by these directives are responsible for releasing these statements online.
The list below provides links to organizational registries for both SEEA and SEA statements.
This list will be expanded as additional organizations establish public statement registries.
