If you translate from French to English, you know that there are many traps—false friends, syntactic Gallicisms, interference and more—that can trip you up and lead to a poor-quality translation. These traps are often problems for machine translation and artificial intelligence tools too.
In this second workshop in the series, we will look at a new set of common translation problems that are challenging for translators and translation tools alike.
You will learn ways to avoid these traps when translating and revising, no matter who or what translated the text.

- Specialists in translation or revision (French to English).
- Prerequisite
- You must already be involved in translating or revising French-to-English texts.
- Language
- The workshop is given in English; however, you are welcome to use the official language of your choice.

- recognize a new set of common translation traps
- use proven techniques to avoid them in human and machine translations
- use your judgment to produce quality translations
