Vote 5 – Government Contingencies $4

Subject to the approval of the Treasury Board, to supplement other appropriations and to provide for miscellaneous, urgent or unforeseen expenditures not otherwise provided for, including grants and contributions not listed in the Estimates and the increase of the amount of grants listed in these, where those expenditures are within the legal mandate of a government organization, and authority to reuse any sums allotted and repaid to this appropriation from other appropriations.

Department of Employment and Social Development

Funding to support access to post-secondary education

The Treasury Board authorized an allocation of up to $9,500,000 to the Department of Employment and Social Development to provide timely payments for the grant entitled, “Pathways to Education Canada Grant”. This funding is for Pathways to Education, a charitable organization providing comprehensive after-school programming as well as a suite of financial and non-financial supports for underserved youth in low-income communities to help them complete high school and transition successfully to post-secondary education.

Leaders’ Debates Commission

Funding to stabilize the Leaders’ Debates Commission in the event of an early election

The Treasury Board authorized an allocation of up to $2,811,152 to be provided to the Leaders’ Debates Commission in the event of an election call. This funding will be used to organize and produce leaders’ debates in the event of an election.

Funding for the operations of the Commission

The Treasury Board authorized an allocation of up to $316,161 to the Leaders’ Debates Commission in order to support the continuity of operations until the next Supplementary Estimates.

Telefilm Canada

Funding for the Short-Term Compensation Fund for Canadian Audiovisual Productions

The Treasury Board authorized an allocation of up to $150,000,000 to Telefilm Canada to deliver the Short-Term Compensation Fund. The Fund addresses the absence of private insurance in Canada to cover costs associated with the interruption or cancellation of film and television productions caused by the COVID‑19 pandemic.

Subject to the approval of the Treasury Board, to supplement other appropriations in support of the implementation of strategic management initiatives in the public service of Canada.

Vote 15 – Compensation Adjustments $0

Subject to the approval of the Treasury Board, to supplement other appropriations that may need to be partially or fully funded as a result of adjustments made to terms and conditions of service or employment of the federal public administration, including members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Canadian Armed Forces, Governor in Council appointees and Crown corporations as defined in section 83 of the Financial Administration Act.

Vote 25 – Operating Budget Carry Forward $0

Subject to the approval of the Treasury Board, to supplement other appropriations for the operating budget carry forward from the previous fiscal year.

Vote 30 – Paylist Requirements $0

Subject to the approval of the Treasury Board, to supplement other appropriations for requirements related to parental and maternity allowances, entitlements on cessation of service or employment and adjustments made to terms and conditions of service or employment of the federal public administration including members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Canadian Forces, where these have not been provided from Vote 15, Compensation Adjustments.

Vote 35 – Capital Budget Carry Forward $0
