Consultations sur l'approvisionnement intérieur en marchandises dérivées de l'acier
Le gouvernement du Canada sollicite l’avis des producteurs canadiens et des associations industrielles sur leur capacité à produire une gamme de produits dérivés de l’acier qui sont soumis à une surtaxe lors de leur importation.
Les contributions à ces consultations serviront à déterminer si ces produits sont fabriqués au Canada. S’ils ne sont pas fabriqués au Canada, les importateurs de ces produits peuvent bénéficier d’un allègement de la surtaxe.
Contexte
Le 26 décembre 2025, le gouvernement du Canada a imposé une surtaxe de 25 % sur certains produits dérivés de l’acier importés de tous les pays en vertu du Décret imposant une surtaxe sur les marchandises dérivées de l’acier. Cette mesure a été introduite en réponse aux préoccupations liées au détournement commercial de produits dérivés de l’acier vers le marché canadien et pour soutenir les industries nationales.
Le gouvernement a annoncé que les demandes de remise de la surtaxe sur les produits dérivés de l’acier seront examinées au cas par cas dans les situations suivantes :
- Dans les cas où les marchandises utilisées comme intrants ne peuvent pas être obtenues sur le territoire national, que ce soit sur une base nationale ou régionale, ou raisonnablement à partir d’autres sources.
- Pour faire face, au cas par cas, à d’autres circonstances exceptionnelles qui pourraient avoir de graves répercussions sur l’économie canadienne.
Un élément clé de l’évaluation par le gouvernement des demandes de remise est la question de savoir si le produit importé peut raisonnablement être obtenu sur le marché intérieur.
Objet de la présente consultation
Le ministère des Finances du Canada consulte les producteurs canadiens afin de déterminer si les produits énumérés ci-dessous peuvent être obtenus sur le marché intérieur.
Si votre entreprise est en mesure de fabriquer l'un des produits répertoriés dans le tableau ci-dessous, veuillez l'indiquer en remplissant le formulaire en ligne.
Si un fournisseur canadien est identifié, l'entreprise demandant l'allégement tarifaire pourrait être invitée à contacter ce fournisseur afin d'évaluer si ses besoins d'achat peuvent être satisfaits (c'est-à-dire les quantités, les spécifications, les délais).
