Mistakes happen
If a beacon is accidentally activated, contact the CBR as soon as possible to avoid a search and rescue mission being initiated for a false alert. If it is outside CBR office hours, contact the Canadian Mission Control Center at 1-613-965-7265 or toll free at 1-800-211-8107
There is no fine or penalty if a beacon is accidentally activated. To avoid accidental activation during a beacon self-test, all testing should be done in accordance with the beacon manufacturer instructions.
