Support for Organizations — Canada Book Fund

The Support for Organizations (SFO) component of the Canada Book Fund (CBF) contributes to the marketing and promotion of Canadian-authored books. It also serves to strengthen the infrastructure and efficiency of the Canadian book industry.

The SFO component of the CBF supports marketing, professional development, internships and technology projects.

NEW SFO information sessions

To support applicants, the SFO program team will be offering a series of information sessions on the application process.

English Zoom webinar:
October 7, 2025, at 1:30 pm (ET)
French Zoom webinar:
October 8, 2025, at 1:30 pm (ET)

The program invites you to confirm your participation by sending an email to flc-sao-cbf-sfo@pch.gc.ca. If you require accessibility accommodations, such as sign language interpretation, please contact the program before September 26, 2025.

Once confirmed, the program will send you the Zoom link and access code.

Who can apply

To be eligible for funding from the SFO component of the CBF, an organization must meet all of the following requirements:

  • be a Canadian-owned and Canadian-controlled organization or professional association, representing or related to the Canadian book publishing industry
  • be incorporated under the laws of Canada or a province

Application deadlines

The application deadlines for the SFO component of the CBF are April 30 and October 31.

NEWApplications must be received no later than 4 pm (ET) on the date of the application deadline.
