Access to DWAN

The Transparent-Defence Virtual Private Network Infrastructure (T-DVPNI) is the resource that enables Defence Team personnel to access the DWAN remotely. The T-DVPNI has been upgraded to many times its initial capacity since March 2020 and can now accommodate all Defence Team personnel. To access the DWAN through T-DVPNI, please speak with your manager to arrange the necessary requirements and permissions (ex. A DND laptop and a PKI card).

Defence 365

In the spring of 2020, ADM(IM) rolled out Defence 365 (D365), a Microsoft Office 365 platform, for the Defence Team. Defence 365 (D365) provides a Protected A DND/CAF supported platform for the Defence Team to continue working and collaborating at this time. It enables real-time collaboration and document editing, video meetings and calls, Live Events, and other collaborative tools.

D365 is now permanently available to all Defence Team members and complements the existing enterprise network’s Virtual Private Network (T-DVPNI) to improve the remote work experience and collaboration, and to enable all DND/CAF personnel to virtually connect with their teams from anywhere, even when T-DVPNI is unavailable. D365 is also now available on the DWAN.

Post pandemic, personnel will be able to continue to connect to D365 via a personal device (as well as the through the DWAN and government issued phones) to complete work and collaborate with their colleagues, in the workplace and from home.

D365 accounts have been created and distributed for the entire Defence Team. Once users activate their account and log in, they will have access to a SharePoint support site with self-guided training, resources and updates, including those below.
