“Love Who You Are” with the help of LifeSpeak Spring Campaign and COVID-19 Expert Blog for All Defence Team Members

May 28, 2020 - Defence Stories

The COVID-19 pandemic is having a profound impact on the personal and professional lives of many members across the Defence Team.

As military and civilian staff do their part by practicing physical distancing and continuing to stay in their homes, maintaining positive mental health and staying engaged with work can be a challenge. In an effort to support the entire Defence Team , the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Canadian Forces Members Assistance Program (CFMAP) are here to help.

LifeSpeak is one part of DND’s Employee Assistance Program. It is a web-based platform available to both military and civilian Defence Team members, and includes videos and modules on a variety of topics relating to total well-being.

The current campaign entitled Love Who You Are is available until June 14 and features a variety of strategies to help build confidence and self-esteem.

The campaign is organized into four modules:

1) Recognizing the importance of body positivity;

2) Learning about gender identity;

3) Understanding the LGBTQ+ experience; and

4) Decoding loneliness.

Defence Team members can stay-up-to-date with LifeSpeak’s COVID-19 Expert Blog, where you’ll find blog posts and articles about how you can manage your way through the COVID-19 pandemic. The blog is updated frequently, so check back for new information regularly.
