Step-by-step video: Reporting harassment or violence in the workplace

April 26, 2021 - Defence Stories

Defence Team members: would you know what to do if you experienced or witnessed harassment and/or violence in the workplace involving a Defence Team public service employee? Knowing what steps to take is essential to creating a safe and healthy work environment for all.

Understanding the definition of harassment and violence in the workplace and your role as a Defence Team public service employee, CAF member (if involved in an occurrence with a public service employee), or supervisor is important in ensuring that everyone is treated with respect and dignity. If you haven’t done so already, make sure you complete the mandatory Harassment and Violence Prevention training.

Watch the Process for Reporting Harassment or Violence in the Workplace Video or consult the Process for Reporting Harassment or Violence in the Workplace Infographic to learn about the reporting process, resolution options, and prevention measures.

If you believe that your life or physical safety – or that of someone you know in the workplace – is at immediate risk, please contact the Military Police if you are on a base, wing, or in a DND building. If not on DND property, call 911.
