DM/CDS Message: Events in the Middle East

As we approach Remembrance Day, a solemn occasion that invites us to honour and remember the sacrifices made by those who served in times of conflict, we would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the profound effect that the events in the Middle East, and conflicts elsewhere in the world, may be having on many of us.

It's essential for us to remember that non-partisanship and respect for one another in the workplace are core tenets of the Values and Ethics Code for the Public Sector and the Canadian Armed Forces Ethos: Trusted to Serve. These principles remind us that, regardless of our diverse backgrounds or personal beliefs, we stand together as a unified team dedicated to serving our country and working towards a better, more peaceful world.

In these trying times, let us draw strength from the lessons of history and the sacrifices of those who came before us. As we remember the past, let us also look to the present and the future. Let us strive for a world where conflicts are resolved through diplomacy and understanding, a world where the memories of those who have sacrificed so much can serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of peace and unity.
