Did you know that all Department of National Defence (DND) public service employees (indeterminate, students, term, casuals, etc.), must have an updated and valid work agreement (accessible only on the National Defence network) in line with the Direction on prescribed presence in the workplace?
You can submit or modify a work agreement by following the instructions on the following pages:
- Submit a work agreement
- Guidance for using the myWorkArrangements application
- Guidance for completing an alternative work agreement form
The duration of an agreement can be set for up to 1 year from the date of signature and a new agreement must be submitted in the following cases:
- If you are a new employee at DND
- Before the agreement expires
- Change of position or manager
- Change in work location
- Change in the number of days onsite
- Once a decision has been made about an exemption (exception or accommodation)
Employees who are awaiting a decision for an exemption to the common hybrid work model (exceptions or accommodations) (accessible only on the National Defence network) must establish a temporary work agreement in partnership with their manager.
If the employee is on long-term leave, the manager must cancel the work agreement or let it expire.
