Soldier Card
The Operation HONOUR soldier card is a pocket quick-reference guide for Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members.
On the front, it outlines the expectations of CAF members under Operation HONOUR’s four main lines of effort. Members must Understand, by learning about sexual misconduct and inappropriate behaviours, understanding the scope of the problem, and knowing where and how to get help. Members must Respond, by taking action to stop harmful and inappropriate sexual behaviour, and intervening if they see something wrong. Members must Support those who have been harmed, and help colleagues access support services. And finally, members must Prevent sexual misconduct, by respecting the dignity of all individuals, and ensuring a professional work environment at all times.
The interior of the card provides information on who to contact for information, support, or to report and incident. The information and support section directs members to the Sexual Misconduct Response Centre (SMRC), local Chaplains, CF Health Services Centres, or the CAF Member Assistance Program. The Report section encourages members to report incidents of sexual misconduct to the chain of command, CFNIS, local Workplace Relations Advisors, ICCM, or local police.
The rear of the card reminds members to do their part, that sexual misconduct diminishes operation readiness, and that they must treat everyone with respect and dignity. It also provides information on the Respect in the CAF mobile application, which can be downloaded from mobile App Stores on iOS, BlackBerry, and Android.
