Government of Canada supports innovative practices in early learning and child care
“We are committed to ensuring that all children have a real and fair chance to succeed. Early learning and child care is experiencing a time of rapid growth. We must foster innovation and create an environment that encourages ongoing improvement to meet the diverse needs of Canadian children from all horizons, particularly those who are most vulnerable.”
– The Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development
With this investment, the Government of Canada is aiming to improve early learning and child care services for all Canadian families and their children by: developing innovative approaches to early learning and child care that improve children’s and families’ life outcomes; sharing with key players best practices to enable their replication; and getting a better understanding of the changing nature of the early learning and child care sector.
Of the $100 million dedicated towards early learning and child care innovation, this call for concepts includes an investment of $10 million over two years in 2018–19 and 2019–20.
