Regulatory Cooperation Forum: Activities
Annual meetings
The Regulatory Cooperation Forum (RCF) meets annually to:
- review progress on active work plan items and items of interest
- set the forum’s strategic vision and establish key priorities
- discuss other files or issues pertinent to the RCF
A stakeholder debrief meeting is held following each annual meeting and provides an opportunity for stakeholders to:
- hear updates on RCF activities
- provide feedback on ongoing work and new opportunities for cooperation
Seventh Annual Meeting (May 2025)
The seventh meeting took place in Brussels and by videoconference on May 14 and 15, 2025.
During this meeting:
- Regulators provided progress updates on work plan items and items of interest
- Stakeholders were debriefed on RCF-related activities

Stakeholder consultations
Since the RCF was established, two public consultations have been conducted to identify opportunities for cooperation between Canada and the European Union:
- a consultation to identify topics for the forum’s first work plan was held from February 10, 2018, to April 11, 2018; input from this consultation can be found on the Open Government portal
- a broader consultation on “Breaking Down Inter-Jurisdictional Regulatory Barriers,” was held from April 27, 2022, to June 27, 2022; for details on this initiative, refer to the What We Heard Report: Stakeholder Consultations on Breaking Down Inter-Jurisdictional Regulatory Barriers
