Aliphatic Amines Group
These substances were identified for action under the Chemicals Management Plan (CMP). This screening assessment focuses on 13 of 19 substances referred to collectively as the Aliphatic Amines Group. The ecological risk of the 9 long-chain aliphatic amines identified in the table below was assessed using a class-based approach that encompasses a wider set of both monoamine and diamine substances, as detailed in the screening assessment. It includes, but is not limited to the 9 long-chain aliphatic amines identified in the table below.

Background
Six other substances were identified as being a part of the Aliphatic Amines Group at the outset of the third phase of the CMP. Four of these 6 substances were subsequently determined to be of low concern to both human health and the environment, through other approaches. The conclusion for the substance with CAS RN 68955-53-3 is provided in the Final Screening Assessment for Substances Identified as Being of Low Concern based on the Ecological Risk Classification of Organic Substances and the Threshold of Toxicological Concern (TTC)-based Approach for Certain Substances. The conclusions for substances with CAS RNs 112-90-3, 80939-62-4 and 90367-27-4 are provided in the Final Screening Assessment for the Rapid Screening of Substances with Limited General Population Exposure. The remaining 2 substances (CAS RNs 108-91-8 and 58713-21-6) were moved from the Aliphatic Amines Group into the Sodium Cyclamate and Cyclohexylamine Group and the Hexamethylenetriamine Group, respectively.
