In compliance with the Pest Control Products Sales Information Reporting Regulations, registrants report the quantity of pesticides sold in Canada for a calendar year to Health Canada .
The overall pesticide sales in Canada in 2024 were 144 301 218 kg a.i., which is a 1% increase from the 142 829 854 kg a.i. sold in 2023. Pesticide sales have been steadily increasing over the last 5 years. Changes in overall pesticide sales is driven by changes in agricultural herbicide sales.
