Executive Summary
In compliance with the Pest Control Products Sales Information Reporting Regulations, registrants report the quantity of pesticides sold in Canada for a calendar year to Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency.
The overall pesticide sales in Canada in 2022 were 139,744,726 kg a.i., which is an 4.9% increase from the 132,885,434 kg a.i. sold in 2021. After decreases in 2018 and 2019, pesticide sales have been increasing back to levels seen in 2017. Changes in overall pesticide sales are driven by changes in agricultural herbicide sales.
