Announcement

Health Canada is committed to enhancing transparency and supporting informed decision making. As part of this commitment, Health Canada will begin publishing inspection results for sites that manufacture, package, label and import natural health products (NHPs) on the existing Drug and Health Product Inspection Database (DHPID).

This initiative aligns with the transparency practices for other regulated products such as drugs, clinical trials, medical devices, and cannabis.

Purpose

The DHPID supports open government and regulatory transparency by giving the public access to inspection information for drugs and health products. With the addition of NHP inspection results, the database will now offer a more complete picture of Health Canada’s compliance and enforcement activities across regulated product lines.

The DHPID:

By providing Canadians with clearer information and aligning oversight with that of other regulated products, this initiative reinforces public confidence in the regulatory system and supports informed decision-making.

Implementation

The results of NHP good manufacturing practices (GMP) inspections are now accessible on the DHPID.
