Background

Health Canada's Food Directorate is proposing changes to the List of contaminants and other adulterating substances in foods as part of the Department's modernization of Part B of the Food and Drug Regulations. The proposed changes to the List of contaminants and other adulterating substances in foods are described in the information document referenced below.

The purpose of this communication is to publicly announce the Department's intention in this regard and to provide the appropriate contact information for inquiries or for those wishing to submit new scientific information relevant to Health Canada's proposal.
