Panel physicians
Panel physicians play an important role in the immigration process. They help us protect the health of Canadians by doing immigration medical examinations (IMEs).

Interim Federal Health Program
For certain categories of immigrants, the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) covers the cost of the IME and IME-related tests. If you are a panel member doing IMEs for clients who are eligible for the IFHP, you must register as an IFHP provider with Medavie Blue Cross. For more information, refer to the following documents:
- In-Canada: IFHP Information Handbook for Health-care Professionals – March 1, 2022 (PDF, 1.83 MB)
- Overseas: IFHP Information Handbook for Pre-Departure Medical Services Providers – March 1, 2022 and IFHP PDMS Immunization Manual
