Program delivery update: Instructions on assessing employers for temporary workers applications – February 23, 2018
This section contains policy, procedures and guidance used by IRCC staff. It is posted on the department’s website as a courtesy to stakeholders.
New program delivery instructions (PDIs) on temporary worker applications have been published to expand on step 3 of the steps to determine the work and assessment of work permit applications, in which the officer assesses whether the employer is genuine and eligible to employ foreign nationals.
These instructions also convert Operational Bulletin (OB) 275B into several PDIs pages that provide officers with guidance on how to assess employers under the International Mobility Program and the Temporary Foreign Worker Program during work permit processing. As a result, OBs 275-B and 275-C (which was available externally only) have been marked as expired.
Additionally, the guidance on conditions imposed on work permits has been updated to include the conditions imposed on employers when a work permit is issued.
New instructions
- Assessing the genuineness of the offer of employment on a work permit application
