How to Get a Police Certificate – Djibouti

If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

How to get a Police Certificate:

You should apply in person to the Greffier en Chef at the Ministère de la Justice (see Special notes and considerations for complete address). You must bring:

  • Your national identity card
  • Your passport
  • Applicable fees

If you live outside of Djibouti:

You should apply to the Greffier en Chef at the Ministère de la Justice (see Special notes and considerations for complete address). You must bring:

  • Copy of your national identity card
  • Copy of your passport
  • Names of both parents, date of birth and place of residence while in Djibouti
  • Applicable fees

  • Applying and collecting the certificate is done by the concerned applicant
  • Fingerprints are not taken at the time of police certificate issuance for both Djibouti citizens and foreign nationals
  • For Djibouti citizens fingerprints are taken when their national identity cards are issued
  • For foreign nationals, fingerprints that were taken during the preparation of their resident permits are in their file
  • Certificat de non condamnation is issued to foreigners/non-residents
