How to Get a Police Certificate - Monaco

If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

Name of the document you need

Bulletin No. 3

Police certificate and IRCC requirements

You must provide a police certificate when you apply for

  • permanent residence
  • citizenship
  • some temporary residence programs

Check your application package or instructions for details.

How to apply

If you’re a Monacan citizen or were born there

You can apply in person to the Palais de Justice de Monaco or get someone else to apply on your behalf. You can also apply by mail or email to the Parquet Général (See Contact information for complete address).

If you live outside of Monaco and aren’t a resident or citizen

You don’t need a Monacan police certificate.

If you’re asked for a police certificate from Monaco, write: "I cannot provide a police certificate for the time I spent in Monaco because certificates are only available to people of Monegasque nationality, people born in Monaco and residents of Monaco."
