How to get a police certificate – Türkiye

If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

Applying for permanent residence

You must provide a police certificate when you apply for permanent residence in Canada.

You will also be requested to provide an archived police certificate to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) if you declared a criminal record on your application for an electronic travel authorization, work permit or study permit.

How to apply

If you live in Türkiye:

You can apply at the General Prosecutor’s Office (branches located in each city).

You can apply for an archived police clearances (“Arsiv Kayitli Sabika Kaydi/Adli Sicil Arsiv Kaydi”) online via the e-government application e-Devlet (only in Türkish and English).

If you live outside of Türkiye:

You should apply at your nearest Türkish Embassy or mail a request to the Türkish Republic Ministry of Justice General Directory of Criminal Records Central Office in Ankara:

Special considerations
