When your forms and documents are ready, you can

  1. Pay the application fees

    The citizenship application fee for a stateless person is [Error loading fee. Check the fee list.].

    How to pay

    Pay the fee only when you’re ready to submit your application.

    1. Sign in to our online payment system.
      • Create an account if you don’t have one.
    2. Pay your fees.
    3. Print and include the receipt with your application.

    If you’re submitting more than 1 application at the same time, you can pay all the fees together (1 receipt) or separately (many receipts). Include a copy of your receipt in each application.

    If you don’t pay the correct amount

    If you don’t pay enough, we’ll return the entire application. We’ll start processing the application only after we receive the full amount of the fee.

    If you pay too much, we’ll refund the difference and process your application normally.

    Getting a refund

    You can get a full refund for your application fee if you cancel or abandon your application. We’ll send it to the person named in the “Payer Information” section of the receipt.

  2. Mail your application

    To avoid delays or a return of your application package, follow these steps before you mail it.

    1. Before you sign the form
      • Confirm you still meet the citizenship eligibility requirements.
    2. Check completeness
      • Confirm that you have included every required form, document and payment receipt.
      • If applying as a family or a group, put all complete applications and receipts in one envelope so that we can process them together.
      • If any application is incomplete, we will return the entire package
    3. Sign and date the form
      • Sign the application form yourself.
      • Use the actual date you sign the form. Do not back-date or post-date.
      • The date you sign your application form must be the date you enter in the physical presence calculation section (section 9, line B).
    4. Send the package right away
      • Courier or mail the application package within 90 days of the signature date.
      • We’ll return the package if it arrives after 90 days.
