In the event of unforeseen or exceptional circumstances
If you’re unable to verify documents on time, you must email IRCC.LOAPortal-PortailLA.IRCC@cic.gc.ca immediately to ask for an extension.
An extension may be granted for up to 30 days due to any of the following unforeseen circumstances:
- prolonged failure of power, communication or other infrastructure systems
- natural disaster
- public health emergency
- labour dispute
We’ll respond within 5 business days and tell you
- if you’ve been approved for an extension
- how long the extension will be
- how to complete the verification by the new deadline
Questions about the verification process
The primary user and secondary users of a DLI can send questions about the verification process. We aim to respond to requests in 5 business days.
Please include the following in your email:
- the name of your DLI
- the DLI number
- your full name
If you want to change the primary user or remove existing secondary users
Provide the full name and email address of the user(s) in your request. Changing the primary user does not remove existing secondary users from the portal.
If you want to change a validation status
As of March 19, 2024, you are no longer able to change the validation status of students in the portal once it has been submitted.
You can send us an email if you need to change a student’s status for reasons including
- deferred enrolment
- student withdrawal or
- error in original verification
Please include all relevant information about the student(s).
If you’re having technical problems
Include all relevant details about the issue in your email. Please include screenshots of the problem you’re encountering and any error messages.
