The Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade, will take part in a conversation with Nicolas Roucou, Director General of Groupe Decathlon, on the second day of Canada’s virtual trade mission to France. The Minister will then lead a fireside chat with business leaders Richard Laniel, President of Kanuk, and Barb Stegemann, President and Founder of The 7 Virtues.

This week, the Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade, connected with Anna Hallberg, Sweden’s Minister of Foreign Trade; Sophie Wilmès, Belgium‘s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade and Franck Riester, France’s Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, regarding the continued flow of vaccines across borders.
Minister Ng welcomed the close collaboration with the EU on the continued supply of contracted deliveries of COVID-19 vaccines to Canada, and underscored the importance that this continue in light of the EU’s recent announcement regarding amendments to their mechanism on vaccine exports.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of Canada has been committed to ensuring global supply chains are strong and resilient. It is more important than ever that the world works to advance an inclusive and sustainable economic recovery from the pandemic.
