That is why the Government of Canada is continuing its leadership on official languages by introducing the necessary measures to protect the vitality of Quebec’s English-speaking minority communities and of French-speaking minority communities in the rest of the country, and to respond to the issues those communities face.

The Enabling Fund for Official Language Minority Communities is ESDC’s flagship program to enhance the vitality of these communities. The program provides funding to a network of 14 organizations across Canada, including one national organization and one organization in each province and territory.

The early years of life are critical to the development and future well-being of children. High-quality, inclusive early learning and child care programs for children in official language minority communities help them build a strong sense of identity, while enabling parents and families to participate in their culture.
The Government of Canada is investing more than $17.5 million over five years to fund 13 projects aimed at preventing family and gender-based violence. These projects will help support children, youth, families, and service providers across Canada.
