The Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, will present the Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation to individuals from Nova Scotia during a ceremony in Halifax to recognize their efforts in improving Veterans’ well‑being, as well as their exemplary work commemorating Veterans’ sacrifices and achievements.
The Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, today announced $43 million in funding over three years to maintain frontline staffing levels, including the Case Manager to Veteran ratio, and upgrade the tools Case Managers use – freeing up more time for them to work directly with Veterans.
On 6 June 1944, Canadians landed on Juno Beach as part of the D-Day invasion that marked a turning point for Allied forces during the Second World War. Since then, The Juno Beach Centre has become a place of remembrance and emotion for Veterans, their families, Canadians and French citizens. Veterans Affairs Canada is organizing an official Government of Canada delegation to Dieppe, France from August 17-20, 2022, to mark the 80th anniversary of the Dieppe Raid. The delegation will include Veterans, representatives from Indigenous and Veterans organizations, parliamentarians and youth.
