Today, Environment and Climate Change Canada presented its seasonal outlook for winter 2024–2025. Experts predict close to or above normal temperatures across the north and east. In the west, a warm start to the season is expected to be followed by normal to below normal temperatures.

On November 14, 2024, at the Longueuil courthouse, landscaping company 9242-6451 Québec inc. pleaded guilty to one count of violating the prohibitions set out in the Emergency Order for the Protection of the Western Chorus Frog Great Lakes / St. Lawrence—Canadian Shield Population (Longueuil), in violation of the Species at Risk Act.

Today, the Honourable Gary Anandasangaree, Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations, on behalf of the Honourable Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, alongside 22 Indigenous Governments and organizations in the Northwest Territories, the Government of the Northwest Territories, and private donors, celebrated the signing of the Northwest Territories Our Land for the Future Agreement, based on the Project Finance for Permanence model.
