Royal Galipeau, Member of Parliament for Ottawa-Orleans, on behalf of the Honourable Julian Fantino, Associate Minister of National Defence, today announced a $3.9-million investment for upgrades and repairs to three Department of National Defence facilities in Ottawa.
Today, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada Peter MacKay announced funding of approximately $450,000 over two years for the Boost Child and Youth Advocacy Centre so it can continue to provide services in Toronto for children and youth who are victims of and/or witnesses to violence and to develop and deliver training for professionals from child advocacy centres across Canada.
In November 2014, the Government of Canada announced an additional $5.8 billion in investments that will continue to build and renew infrastructure across the country. The majority of this support will be delivered within the next three years.
The lockdown put in place at the maximum security unit at Collins Bay Institution on July 14, 2015, has ended. The institution has resumed its normal operations.
