David L. Emerson, P.C., O.B.C. (BA [Economics], University of Alberta, 1968; MA [Economics], University of Alberta, 1970; PhD [Economics], Queen's University, 1975), has enjoyed a career as financial executive, economist and member of Parliament. During his time in Parliament, he served as Minister of Industry from 2004 to 2006, Minister of International Trade with responsibility for the 2010 Winter Olympics and Asia Pacific Gateway Initiative from 2006 to 2008, and Minister of Foreign Affairs briefly in 2008. Mr. Emerson is replacing John H. McArthur.
