The Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of Labour and Minister of Canada Economic Development, today announced that the Société d'écologie de la batture du Kamouraska (SEBKA) Inc. has been awarded $92,300 in non-repayable funding to improve its reception facilities and update its promotional materials. Necessitating an overall investment of $130,000, this project will result in the creation of one new seasonal job and the consolidation of an additional 10 positions.

The Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of Labour and Minister of Canada Economic Development, today announced that Atelier d'usinage Gilles Aspirault (9157-5837 Québec Inc.), of Rivière-Renard will receive $17,000 in non-repayable funding toward the acquisition of leading-edge equipment and completion of an expansion project that will require a total investment of more than $150,000 and lead to the creation of two new jobs by the year 2009.

The 2007 Taylor Award was presented to Mr. Harry Spencer during a ceremony in Gravenhurst, Ontario on May 2, 2008.
