The Joint Panel established to review the proposed Kearl Oil Sands Project in Alberta, today submitted its rationale to the federal Minister of the Environment and the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB).

The Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of Labour and Minister of Canada Economic Development, today announced that Atelier d'usinage Gilles Aspirault (9157-5837 Québec Inc.), of Rivière-Renard will receive $17,000 in non-repayable funding toward the acquisition of leading-edge equipment and completion of an expansion project that will require a total investment of more than $150,000 and lead to the creation of two new jobs by the year 2009.
