Starting and running a business in the city of Colwood just became easier thanks to BizPaL, a new online business permit and licence service that saves time spent on paperwork and helps entrepreneurs start up faster.
On behalf of Canada's Environment Minister John Baird, local Member of Parliament for Lanark-Frontenac -Lennox and Addington, Mr. Scott Reid, today announced the designation of maple products as an event of national historical significance. The event took place at the Wheeler's Museum in McDonalds Corners, Ontario. Two other designations were made in Mont-Saint-Hilaire and in Plessisville, Quebec.

Their Excellencies the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Jean-Daniel Lafond, will host an Art Matters forum in Banff, Alberta. Organized in collaboration with The Banff Centre, this first national forum will bring together approximately 30 participants from across the country to take part in discussions and workshops on the theme of "Made in Canada: Arts as an essential resource".
