The Minister of Public Works and Government Services Canada, the Honourable Michael M Fortier, on behalf of the Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, the Honourable Lawrence Cannon, and the MNA for Westmount-Saint-Louis and Second Co-Chair of the National Assembly, Jacques Chagnon, on behalf of the Deputy Premier and Minister of Municipal Affairs and Regions, Nathalie Normandeau, are announcing today that the City of Westmount will receive $920,031 under the federal-provincial agreement on the transfer of a portion of federal gasoline excise tax revenues and the Government of Québec's contribution. This is the first payment to Westmount which will receive a total of $3,099,265 by the end of 2009 for important infrastructure projects.
A new training program will help Atlantic Canada's women entrepreneurs acquire tools and knowledge to grow their businesses. At a news conference today in Halifax, Gerald Keddy, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and to the Minister of International Trade, announced a Government of Canada investment of more than $286,000 to Mount Saint Vincent University's Centre for Women in Business to develop and deliver a six-month skills-building initiative for established women entrepreneurs in the growth phase of business.

The Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, the Honourable Lawrence Cannon, and the Minister of Labour and Minister responsible for the Lanaudière Region, David Whissell, on behalf of the Deputy Premier and Minister of Municipal Affairs and Regions, Nathalie Normandeau, are pleased to announce that the Municipality of Saint-Charles-Borromée will receive $701,692 under the federal-provincial agreement on the transfer of a portion of federal gasoline excise tax revenues and the Government of Québec's contribution. This is the first payment to Saint-Charles-Borromée which will receive a total of $1,754,231 by the end of 2009 for important infrastructure projects.
