The Canadian Coast Guard will proceed with the annual closure of its seasonal search and rescue bases in Québec, Tadoussac, Kegaska, Rivière-Renard and Havre-Saint-Pierre around December 1, 2014. The Cap-Meules base will close on December 31, 2014.

Canada's official delegation led by the Honourable Julian Fantino, Minister of Veterans Affairs, today wrapped up a week of commemorative ceremonies in Italy. Canadian Veterans participated in a number of commemorative activities, including a visit to the war cemetery in Cassino where 855 Canadians are buried.
The Honourable Greg Rickford, Canada's Minister of Natural Resources, today concluded a visit to British Columbia where he met with leaders of First Nations communities to discuss progress on the Government of Canada's response to the recommendations of the Eyford Report and our latest enhancements to Canada's world-class tanker and pipeline safety systems. Minister Rickford also met with the Honourable Rich Coleman, Deputy Premier of British Columbia and Minister of Natural Gas Development.
