Applications undergo detailed assessment.

Funding decisions are usually made within 90 business days of receiving a complete application (including satisfactory supporting documentation). Refer to PrairiesCan’s service standards.
How we assess your application
Applicants are advised to submit a complete and thorough application. We may contact you for details on your application or additional information, where deemed necessary for assessment. PrairiesCan may engage organizations directly on outstanding questions or issues.
Proposals from eligible applicants will be evaluated based on:
- The ability to achieve the BCSF objectives,
- The program priorities, and,
- The relative strengths in the following areas:
- project viability (e.g., management capability, financial capacity)
- economic benefits
- community impact
- Compliance with applicable legislation and regulatory/permit requirements
To better assess your project, PrairiesCan may request additional information (as applicable).
Only applications demonstrating the highest merit and fit with BCSF objectives and priorities will be considered for funding. Many good projects may not receive support under the BCSF.
