Expert Roster call out for membership on the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Services
The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is creating a roster of public health science experts that can be called upon for expert science advice, when needed, to complement internal science expertise. The Expert Roster for the Public Health Agency of Canada will ensure that experts are engaged through a transparent process that considers their skills and Canada's diversity in terms of gender, ethnicity, regions, Indigenous groups, racialized communities and official languages.
The Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Services replaces the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care. The Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care was established in 2009 to develop clinical practice guidelines that support primary care providers in delivering preventive health care.
This pan-Canadian call out will recruit individuals with expertise related to the development of clinical practice guidelines in Canada. The intent is to identify members for the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Services, to be launched in April 2026.
Expertise sought
Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Services members will be required to have expertise, knowledge or experience in:
- disease prevention and health promotion of children, youth, and/or adults
- guideline production and dissemination; and
- systematic reviews, their methodology and their application to clinical decision-making and/or policy.
Lived/living experience; a background in primary care or preventive medicine; and expertise in health disparities, health equity, ethics (public health ethics, research ethics, bioethics), or health economics will be considered an asset.
For the purposes of establishing the Expert Roster for the Public Health Agency of Canada, PHAC is seeking submissions from people with a minimum of 10 years' experience working in public health or other relevant fields of expertise, and at least 5 years' experience working in 1 or more of the listed primary specializations (listed alphabetically below, not in order of importance).
