The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is leading the development of a national autism strategy and continues to engage with Indigenous Peoples, provinces, and territories through a variety of mechanisms.
PHAC hosted a national conference on November 15 and 16, 2022 to bring together the views of Autistic Canadians, their families and caregivers, advocates, provinces, territories and Indigenous Peoples. Discussions, collaboration and knowledge-sharing at this conference, along with the work done by the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) and other stakeholders and organizations that PHAC is collaborating with, will be used to solidify priorities and inform the development of a national autism strategy.
