National Autism Conference

When: November 15 and 16, 2022

Why:

In the Minister of Health's 2021 Mandate Letter, the Prime Minister asks the Minister of Health to work in collaboration with provinces, territories, families and stakeholders, to accelerate the development of a national autism strategy.

What:

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is leading the development of a national autism strategy and continues to engage with Indigenous Peoples, provinces, and territories through a variety of mechanisms.

PHAC is organizing a national conference in fall 2022 to bring together the views of Autistic Canadians, their families and caregivers, advocates, provinces, territories and Indigenous Peoples. Discussions, collaboration and knowledge-sharing at this conference, along with the work done by the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) and other stakeholders and organizations that PHAC is collaborating with, will be used to solidify priorities and develop a national autism strategy.
