Employees disabled due to an occupational injury or disease entitled to injury-on-duty leave with full normal pay for such reasonable time as determined by employer

Appropriate Provincial Workers’ Compensation Board must confirm disability. When injury-on-duty leave discontinued, disabled employee eligible for Provincial Workers’ Compensation, the amount of which varies by province.

Medical Expenses Resulting from Illness or Injury

Coverage for up to $100K Cdn in eligible emergency medical expenses for each trip - no time limit when on official business travel

Emergency Travel Assistance Services provides toll-free number for 24-hour access to world-wide network

Eligible expenses based on province or territory where service rendered when service provided in Canada; outside Canada, eligible expenses based on member’s province or territory of residence

Supplements coverage provided under provincial or-territorial plan in traveller’s province/ territory of residence.

Damage to Rental Vehicle

Collision Damage Waiver or Loss Damage Waiver (DCW/LDW) insurance coverage provided for full value of standard rental vehicle, up to $65K

Car Rental Theft and Damage Insurance

Car rental must have been charged to individual Designated Travel Cards, DTA, or RCTC.

Any vehicle operated on a road not maintained by a federal, provincial, state or local agency is excluded.

The CCRA does not "self-insure" rental vehicles; traveller to ensure coverage obtained against collision, loss, damage, fire, theft, vandalism, glass damage and loss of use.

Auto Rental Public Liability and Property Damage (PL/PD) Coverage

Rental rate includes the following car rental insurance:

In Canada, $2M PL/PD;

In the US, $5M Cdn. PL/PD

Tire damage

Standing offer agreements between PW&GSC and car rental agencies

Rental rate does not include CDW/LDW coverage, which is provided separately (see above)

Damage to CCRA Vehicle Driven on Official Business

 

CCRA "self-insures" its own vehicles

Authorized traveller must personally drive CCRA-owned vehicle.

Damage to Privately-owned Vehicle Driven on Official Business

 

Kilometric rate paid includes allowance for basic insurance coverage

Supplementary Business Insurance (SBI) reimbursed, if required

As a minimum, basic insurance coverage shall be $1M PL&PD.

Employer assumes no financial responsibility other than paying authorized kilometric rate and SBI premium, when required.

Flight and Baggage Delay and Hotel/Motel Burglary

Maximum aggregate benefit payable under the four covered incidents in respect to any one occurrence is $500.

Reasonable expenses incurred within 48 hours of deplaning paid for accommodation, meals, refreshments and sundry items.

Immediate and reasonable expenses paid for emergency purchases of essential clothing and sundry items, if incurred within four days of arrival and prior to return of delayed baggage.

Insurance through Govt. Travel Card covers following incidents:

1. Missed Connection: incoming flight delayed, onward connecting flight missed; or

2. Delayed Flight Departure or Denied Boarding:

-confirmed scheduled departure delayed for four hours or more; or

- boarding denied due to overbooking, and no alternative transportation available within four hours of original scheduled departure.

3. Emergency Baggage Delay: accompanying check-in baggage not delivered within six hours of arrival at outbound flight destination.

4. Hotel/Motel Burglary: loss due to burglary in traveller’s hotel/motel room while registered as a guest.

Traveller’s ticket fully charged in advance to individual Designated Travel Card, DTA, or RCTC.

Traveler’s hotel/motel room booked and fully paid with individual Designated Travel Card, DTA, or RCTC.

Lost or Stolen Baggage

Payment for lost or damaged baggage or personal effects while in transit as checked-in baggage or carried on board, up to a limit per trip of $1K, of which jewellery limited to $300, based on proof of loss, and supplementary to other valid and collectable insurance

Lost or Stolen Baggage Insurance

Traveller’s ticket charged in advance to individual Designated Travel Card, DTA, or RCTC.

Losses must be reported immediately to local police or concerned authority.

Cash, bullion, negotiable property and tickets excluded.

Private Life Insurance Benefits Deemed Null and Void Because Death Resulted from War or Other Hostile Activities

Compensation up to a maximum of $400K to survivors of CCRA employee killed while performing required duties in high risk area (as defined by DFAIT). Program designed to provide compensation for private life insurance benefits not paid because of war-risk exclusions.

High Risk Travel Compensation Program

Payment is lesser of: amount of the life insurance payment excluded; and $400K minus life insurance benefits actually payable.

Life insurance includes coverage acquired through purchase of individual policy through insurance provider and through membership in a group insurance plan. It does not include Accidental Death or double indemnity benefits under private or group insurance policies.

Indemnification and Legal Assistance Related to Actions Arising from Performance of Duties Including While in Travel Status

Indemnification and protection from certain financial costs of CCRA employees against liability to the Agency and to third parties and provision of legal assistance where appropriate
