Individual Tax Statistics by Area Visualization

Instructions to maximize the use of this tool

This tool displays statistics based on information processed by the Canada Revenue Agency on the Individual Tax Statistics by Area (ITSA). Click on the buttons at the top of the application to toggle between the sections displaying statistics for “Province or Territory,” “Census Metropolitan Area,” “Census Agglomeration,” or “Forward Sortation Area.”

Filters can be used to select the data by Province or Territory, census metropolitan area, census agglomeration, or forward sortation area.

Hovering over the map or bar charts will generate tooltips that contains the underlying numbers or statistics. The visual elements will not appear if some data is suppressed for confidentiality or unavailability reasons.

It is possible to access the data from all visual elements by right clicking on the elements and selecting “Show data point as table” or “Show as a table” or by accessing the ITSA data tables (see data tables listed under “Data” below the application).

Keyboard shortcuts and screen reader tips

Keyboard shortcuts and screen reader tips are available by entering the visual and pressing CTRL + Enter.

While in the visual, pressing SHIFT + "?" will open the keyboard shortcuts.

When focus is on a visual, the data table can be displayed by pressing ALT + SHIFT + F11.
