After you have filed your return using NETFILE
After you NETFILE, the CRA will issue a confirmation number after it does a preliminary check of your return and the return is accepted through NETFILE for processing. This usually takes a few seconds. Keep the confirmation number for your records.
After you receive a confirmation number, the CRA may need to contact you for clarification or to verify some information. Make sure you fill in the telephone number area of your tax return.
If the CRA has to contact you, your refund and notice of assessment will be delayed.
Once your return has been processed, the CRA will send you a notice of assessment in the mail. If you are registered for email notifications from the CRA, your notice of assessment will no longer be printed and mailed to you. Instead, a notification will be sent to the email address you provided when new mail is available for you to view in My Account. For security reasons, the email notification does not contain any links. For more information go to Email notifications from the CRA – Individuals.
If you want to find out the status of your return before you receive your notice of assessment, go to My Account.

With NETFILE, you don't need to send your tax information slips, receipts, or other documents used to prepare your tax return unless the CRA asks to see them.
Changes to your return
On February 26th, 2018, the CRA introduced the ReFILE service to give taxpayers the option of having an amended income tax and benefit return filed electronically. This service will let taxpayers use NETFILE to send amended returns for a current (2018) or previous (2016 and 2017) return and will only be accepted through ReFILE if the original return was completed and sent electronically through NETFILE (or EFILE).
