4. Apply for registration

You can e-file Form T2214, Application for Registration as a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan using the XML schema or send it by mail.

Generally, applications for registration are processed within 150 calendar days from the time we receive them.

Estimated processing times apply only to properly completed applications, and do not include time required for delivery.

E-file

When you e-file Form T2214, you must still mail all the supporting documents related to your application. For further information about the supporting documents, see What you need to apply. Keep the tracking number given to you when you e-file. This is your reference that the submission was received. Include the tracking number with your letter and supporting documents as a cross-reference.
