Description

Every translator has a translation process, whether they’re aware of it or not. Is there a way to improve yours to make it work better for you?

In this half-day workshop, you’ll learn about the main steps in a translation process and the three main types of translators. You’ll also pick up some tips to help you tackle difficult-to-translate passages, do better research, stay focused and work more efficiently. You’ll leave the workshop with a better understanding of your own process and what you can do to fine-tune it.

Specialists in translation or revision (French to English)

Prerequisite

You must already be involved in translating French-to-English texts.

Language

The workshop is given in English; however, you are welcome to use the official language of your choice.

Learning objectives

At the end of the workshop, you will:

  • understand what a translation process entails
  • know how to approach tricky passages, do better research and stay focused
  • understand your own process better and have the tools you need to improve it
