Notice to all civilian and regular members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police regarding the request to the Office of the Pay Equity Commissioner to extend the deadline to post a final pay equity plan

Date: July 26, 2024

On May 31, 2024, the Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS), on behalf of Treasury Board as the employer, notified all Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) members that a request was filed to the federal Pay Equity Commissioner to extend the deadline to post a final pay equity plan for members of the RCMP. On July 5, 2024, the Pay Equity Commissioner granted the requested extension of 18 months. This means that TBS will be moving forward to post the final pay equity plan by the extended deadline of February 28, 2026. The RCMP pay equity committee, comprised of employer, employee, and non-unionized representatives continues its diligent and collaborative work to develop the pay equity plan.

TBS is committed to developing a pay equity plan that proactively redresses systemic gender-based discrimination in pay practices so that women receive equal pay for work of equal value.

The Government of Canada is committed to creating an inclusive public service where women receive equal pay for work of equal value.
