Bilateral agreements supporting crisis hotlines

Crisis hotlines are a lifeline to victims and survivors of gender-based violence and are critical support services. Funding to crisis hotlines will help provide more robust services, resources, and supports to serve the urgent needs of all victims and survivors of gender-based violence and their families, no matter where they live.

The crisis hotlines reflect the continued Federal-Provincial-Territorial collaboration to prevent and address gender-based violence.

Asking for help or reaching out to someone to talk about experiencing gender-based violence is never easy. That is why crisis hotlines providers across the country have trained staff members to help people when they need it the most. To access immediate support and resources in your region, please visit the Provincial and territorial crisis hotlines list.

Crisis hotlines are making a real difference in people’s lives. See some examples of the impacts of the crisis hotlines on communities, and for some victims and survivors who decided to get help and contact a crisis line.
