About 2 CAD

2 CAD is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba and is the delegated training authority for the RCAF providing:

  • oversight of RCAF individual education and training, including ab-initio training for most RCAF occupations
  • oversight of core RCAF developmental courses
  • support to the overall RCAF training management

Training and support are continuously reviewed and modernized to meet the needs of the RCAF’s operational communities so they in turn can provide the Canadian Armed Forces with relevant, responsive and effective air power to meet the defence challenges of today and into the future.

Crest and motto

CUSTOS SCIENTIAE (Guardian of knowledge)

The eagle is a common symbol used in air force badges. The torches are taken from the badges of the former Training Command and 14 Training Group. They illustrate the main functions of 2 CAD: doctrine, training and education. Their number recalls the name of the Division.
